Dr. Darrell Morden
Dr. Darrell Morden has been
in practice since 2002, after completion of his dental training at
University of Alberta in Edmonton. Dr. Morden simultaneously
conducted research and earned a Masters of Science degree in
Chemistry, at Simon Fraser University, in the field of protein
engineering and recombinant cellular expression and enzyme
selection. His research program built on the undergraduate
foundation he received after finishing a Bachelor of Science at
Trinity Western University. These programs positioned Dr. Morden to
present research at places as honored as the National Institutes of
Health in Bethesda Maryland, and the Protein Society, among others.
Currently, Dr. Morden spends a lot of time in continuing education
to be up to date on current trends and clinical research. Dental
implants, veneers and cosmetics and laser therapy are some examples
of patient treatments routinely found in the practice. The practice
sees a lot of implant-assisted reconstructions, over-denture
stabilization, and cosmetic restoration.
Much contemporary technology
and patient comforts can be found in this office. With an emphasis
on patient education, the use of digital x-rays, for example, is a
new technology that enables clear communication when interacting
with patients. This technology also permits lower levels of
radiation . In essence, the patient can see everything the dentist
sees and participates in the treatment planning and decision
making. Comforts include new plush treatment chairs and TV's to
help pass the time. The team’s goal is to provide a quality
experience, focused on the patient’s chief concern, where
preventative dentistry is always prioritized.
Current registration and in
good standing with the Canadian Dental Association, the Alberta
Dental Association & College, and the International Team for
Implantology. The most important organization in general practice,
however, is the team of well-trained staff whose expertise permits
Dr. Morden to maintain a wide scope of care, and who make the
patient experience smooth and comfortable.
He lives and promotes a
healthy lifestyle and places emphasis on family, hard work and
recreation. Together with his wife, they are raising three
wonderful children. In his free time, he enjoys flying, gardening,
and watching his kids grow.
