Our clinic recognizes the importance of targeted measures for the protection against COVID-19 and other infectious diseases. We implement best practices to help form a critical layer of protection that is especially considerate of the immunocompromised population.
For instance, we use gowns and require masks on the operational side of the clinic with provider discretion to don N95s and face-shields as enhanced PPE. A point of risk assessment is done for every patient entering the office. The clinic also has individual treatment rooms with doors and air filtration units. The clinic’s investment in Infection Prevention and Control is significant and exceeds the requirements set by the provincial regulatory authority.
Our team supports vaccine immunization as well as public policy related to development of prophylactics and therapeutics and improved access to care for the immunocompromised, their caregivers and members of their homes.
We want to be part of a renewed push for public health education, seen earlier in the pandemic, on the importance of avoiding public places when sick and on handwashing. We want to keep the idea of protecting those who are more vulnerable back to top of mind and demonstrate this for the general public.
Our team is expectantly ready to face the next public health crisis.
As a key stakeholder of our patients overall health, we want to be known as a dental office that operates under a high standard of preparedness for the next pandemic.
Lastly, we want to advocate for elements of organized dentistry, such as a the Canadian Dental Association to become part of the coalition of the Canadian Immunocompromised Advocacy Network (C.I.A.N)
